Summary


I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Included throughout this newsletter are pictures taken by my company’s agents at this year’s Christmas party at Nights of A Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens, a world-class 9100 acre sculpture garden and wildlife preserve located just south of Murrells Inlet ( https://www.brookgreen.org/ ). 


For the first time in 14 months, the inventory of active condo listings in oceanfront buildings increased. There are 166 oceanfront condo listings, up from 150 at the end of last month. The number of active condo listings off the ocean declined slightly, to 268, down from 282 last month. See the updated chart below.


This uptick in inventory could just be a pause due to the fact that December is a slow sales month or it could be because more listings are entering the market as higher prices entice sellers. The sales pace is also slowing because asking prices have gone up enough so that listings aren’t selling instantly. The pace of both new listings and purchases increases in the spring so it’s going to be a great time to sell (or buy)!


Teressa and I will close out the year with around $29 million in sales volume and over 110 sales. My company, RE/MAX Southern Shores, has over $921 million in sales volume.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. The beach has still been busy with lots of visitors and strong sales activity. As I did last month, I’m going to keep it light and include a grab bag of information in this newsletter rather than focusing on any one big theme. There will be lots of meaty stats in the coming months.


Included throughout this newsletter are pictures taken by my company’s agents at this year’s Nights of A Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. This is an annual treat for me and my family and for the second year in a row my company Christmas party was a gathering at the festival. For those not familiar with it, Brookgreen Gardens is a world-class 9100 acre sculpture garden and wildlife preserve located just south of Murrells Inlet ( https://www.brookgreen.org/ ). The gardens are open daily most of the year and there are frequent special events during every season. The Nights of a Thousand Candles festival runs several nights each week for about a month and a half during the holidays and is attended by tens of thousands. Be sure to buy tickets in advance. They often sell out.

Every December I work on my business plan for the following year and we are hoping to improve on those figures quite a bit in 2022. The Beach Pro team has big changes coming up that will offer new opportunities for buyers and sellers. Since this is the season for giving, this next item seems to fit right in. This organization raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across the US and Canada. The agents of RE/MAX Southern Shores have contributed almost $200,000 over the past 5 years in addition to $65,515 so far this year. My team has contributed, in the names of our clients, over $3400 so far this year. If you allow us to help you buy or sell on the Grand Strand, a child somewhere will benefit as well.
